True Flow Hi-Performance Intakes & Filters

True Flow intakes are a unique departure from traditional air intake systems. First, the factory air box is left intact, keeping the air flow cooler and denser while protecting the filter from debris and moisture, issues which are ignored by traditional open filter systems. Second, the factory paper filter is replaced with True Flow's foam high flow washable and reusable lifetime filter, which has superior dirt-trapping ability compared to paper and gauze (K&N style) type filters as well as better air flow when dirty. Finally, True Flow intake kits eliminate the factory air tube, which have restrictive mufflers and resonators, and replace it with a high flow powdercoated mandrel bent tube designed with a minimum of bends, short distances and smooth surfaces for maximum air velocity. True Flow intakes use innovative racing-inspired foam filters which are 12X thicker than K & N or AirRaid gauze filters, offering superior dirt filtration, with virtually the same airflow when clean and significantly better airflow when dirty. This graphic shows how True Flow's open cell foam filter can provide better filtration while maintaining maximum airflow. Gauze filters like that of K & N and AirRaid have only one place to catch the dirt . . . along the surface, where it plugs the tiny openings in the filter and restricts airflow. True Flow does not!
The development of this special foam represents a major advancement in filtration technology. Open cell foam filters combine greater airflow capacity, huge dust holding capacity and very high filtration efficiency for extremely small particles. This honeycomb of tiny, interlocking cells create an impossible journey for dirt particles, as there are no straight-through passageways. These full-depth filters hold dirt throughout the entire volume of foam as opposed to surface type gauze filters which have only have one chance to screen the dirt by plugging up the surface of the filter. Because foam is a full depth filter, even as dirt is being stopped, airflow can continue at a high rate by simply going around the dirt, giving you continued superior airflow between cleanings.
